Second Year - Continue Exploration

- Choose a major that you will enjoy studying for the next two years
- Take on more leadership roles
- Join at least one professional organization related to your major
- Start networking
- Get to know your professors
Third Year - Get Specific
- Narrow your career interest areas
- Find out more about career opportunities related to your major
- Attend on and off campus job fairs that relate to your interests
- Shadow a professional in your field
- Talk with potential employers about what they are looking for in potential employees
Fourth Year - Perform the Job Search
- Finalize your course selection and make sure to meet graduation requirements
- Register with Career Planning & Development early
- Participate in our Mock Interview program
- Research the companies you plan to pursue
- Draft a résumé and cover letter that can be adapted for a variety of employers and start submitting to your list of employers
